GMAT Essay

GMAT Essay is also known as Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA). GMAT uses this essay writing to evaluate the writing skills of the future managers. In GMAT you will have two essay to write with the time limit of 1 hour. This 1 hour will be further be divided independently into 30 minutes each. So you will be having 30 Minutes for each essay writing. The GMAT essays are rated on the scale of 6 of which 0 is worst and 6 is the best. 4.5 is termed as average. The score of essay is send after 15 days of the test date and then only your full GMAT score is evaluated. Most colleges also look at these essay scale, so be alert.

The Essays that GMAT ask the examinees to write are of two different kinds and need totally different strategies to work on.

  1. Perspective on an Issue (30 minutes)

    Here you present your prospective on the Issue that the essay wants.

  2. Analysis of Argument (30 minutes)

    Here you will be given an argument and you have to analyze the argument and find out the logical flaws of the argument.
