These type of questions are occasionally asked in the GMAT Exam. But when asked you should be prepared. GMAT Examiner always try to push your BAD LUCK. You may not find these type of question in most of the practice test of the GMAT. So keep these type of question in mind and practice hard.

Sometime you will face the passages where some lines are either HIGHLIGHTED or BOLD. You will be asked to identify a method, technique or strategy used in the passage or how the bold phrase is related to the rest of the passage. How to solve these type of question is simple and require basic GMAT skill just like other type of question. You simply have to identify the premise and the conclusion and you will have the answer.

Recognizing an Identify the Reasoning Questions

As you read the passage you will come across the “bold phrases” and that is the indicator that you are dealing with Identify the Reasoning Questions. Next thing to do is to identify the premise and conclusion. As you read through the passage keep in mind the bold Phrase and how it is related to the rest of the passage. If there are two bold phrases than try to identify how both the phrases are related. Generally the bold phrases contradict each other.
