Resolve Explain Question

Sometime in GMAT exam the examine may ask you to Resolve the apparent paradox or explain a possible discrepancy. For this type of passages, you will be asked to present the truth from the two contradictory facts and sometime you have to select the choices that would allow both the contradictory facts to be true.
How to recognize a Resolve / Explain Question
Resolve / Explain Questions may contain one of the keywords, present in these questions
- Which of the following, if true, resolve the apparent contradiction presented in the passage above?
- Which of the following, if true, best explains the discrepancy description above?
- Which of the following, if true, form a partial explanation for the paradox described above?
How to crack Resolve / Explain Question
- First find out the contradiction premises or the conclusion and then put them in your own words.
- Read the question twice what you have to find out
- Use the POE Strategies to eliminate the wrong choices
- Use your logic to reach the solution. Avoid complex choices as they may be a GMAT trap.
