Modifiers

A Modifier or modifying phrase describes someone or something in the sentence. Just like other chapters, modifiers are of two types. One modifiers can be as simple as single words such as an adjective or an adverb. But GMAT does not like giving simple sentence hence be ready for the complex modifiers that modifies phrases or multiple modifiers. It is important to be able to identify modifying phases as quickly as possible before it is too late.
Try this Example
Tired out from playing basket ball, David decided to take a nap.
The modifying phrase here is “Tired out from playing basket ball” and is been modified by “David”.
Quick Tips
Offen modifiers are not easy to find but in GMAT is is very easy to find. This is because GMAT follow limited rules and if you master all of these mention, you will definitely score high.
How to find a Modifiers
In GMAT, phrase modifiers are generally seprated by COMMA. If you look at the above example it is called opening modifiers. Why, because the modifying phrase is opening the sentence and is at the bigning. This is the best and the most common way of finding the modifier in GMAT Exam. GMAT most common question is based on modifiers and if you want to get best score than you should master the art of modifiers
