Definition: A pronoun is a word that takes the place of a noun
For Example
Mohit played with the ball. He played with IT.
GMAT is famous for the pronoun errors. If you have given the demo exam than you better know what we are talking about. Every GMAT sentence can quickly scan for this type of error. When ever you see a pronoun than wait and analyze the pronoun. Although the pronoun error are common but the good news it that there is only 3 type of pronoun errors that are common in GMAT exam.
Pronoun Reference
Pronoun Reference means pronoun in question should refer back to the same noun of which it has been used.
Pronoun Agreement
Pronoun Agreement in number means that singular noun comply with singular pronoun and plural noun should comply with plural pronoun.
Pronoun Case
Pronoun Case means that the possessive noun and possessive pronoun should be in the same case.
Thing to remember
Pronoun error are common and are offen missed by people who take them causally.
Always take care which pronoun is referring to which noun.
Singular pronoun should refer to a singular noun and plural pronoun should refer to a plural noun.
Deadly four IT, ITS, THEY, THEIR should be taken care of when ever encountered in the sentence correction
