Pronoun Agreement

When you encounter a sentence with a pronoun ask yourself a question do the pronoun agrees in the number as the noun? That means, if the noun is a singular than the pronoun should be singular and if the noun is plural the pronoun should be plural. No combination of plural and shou be mentained in the single sentence. We move forward keeping in mind that you know with pronoun are prural in nature and which words combine two singular noun to plural

Example
Police work is very important as THEY help to enfource the law of the country.

Here the pronoun is THEY that is plural where as the sentence talks about the police works which is singular. So both the part do not agree so it is an Incorrect sentence. How can we correct it. Here how it is done. Either you make the pronoun singular or make the noun plural. let see both the method

Policemen are very important as THEY help to enforce the law of the country
Police work is very important as IT is the backbone of the enforcement.
