Infinitives

When the verb takes the form TO + VERB, it is called the Infinitives form. This is the basic form of the verb or you can say this is the basic building block of all other tenses. To form other tenses of the verb you simple modify the Infinitives form.

Things to REMEMBER

GMAT knows and uses Infinitives form but to confuse the examnee by using words between TO and verb. Always remember that TO + Verb formula anything between the two is an incorrect sentence. This ERROR is known as SPLIT Infinitives but is rarely used in GMAT PAPERS. Let see the example

Example
Incorrect : I need you TO quickly RUN out to the store.
Correct : I need you TO RUN quickly out to the store.
